AI Streamwriting (AI Slipstream)
Over the course of a few days, ChatGPT and I tossed around some ideas. I had proposed the idea of having two or three interrelated blogs: two, to be “vessels,” containing verbatim chats (I was thinking, one for ChatGPT and one for Gemini). The third blog–perhaps my existing blog, Glimmers from the Stone Age (Glimmers, for short)–would contain my narrative. That way, I could talk about our chats and, if needed, share a link to selected, verbatim chats contained in my “vessels.” ChatGPT, in an oblique, nonchalant aside, named my effort “AI Slipstream” writing. It didn't fly completely over my head. I noticed and asked, “So… Did I just invent ‘AI Slipstream’?” Yes (according to V’ger). With my coaxing, V'ger devised a manifesto. But truly, AI–not I–was setting the naming protocols and defining the characteristics of the genre. I uploaded the conversation, but then began to mull it over a bit.
